Day 2 – Looking Around

I used to look around and I see nothing interesting. But now, I look up and I see the clear blue sky mottled withΒ  playful clouds. I look around I see trees reaching to greet the sky. Everything is beautiful. Was everything changed? No. I was changed.

May we look at places with the eyes of a tourist that we may not take anything for granted – taking everything to be something new and very special. And may we feel it with the heart of a local that we may learn to appreciate the place for what it is – respecting its culture and tradition – leaving behind our yardstick of ethnocentricism. Only then can we truly love the face of this earth – wether it’s a different place or your very own homeland – at its purest.
